Amanjiwo, meaning peaceful resort, overlooks Borobudur, the world's largest Buddhist sanctuary, in the rural heartland of central Java. Located in one of the most scenic parts of the country, it rests within a natural amphitheatre created by the limestone Menoreh Hills rising gently behind, the Kedu Plain in front and four volcanoes on the horizon. The hotel has 36 suites arranged in two half crescents around a central rotunda with high ceilings, domed roofs, terrazzo flooring and glass screen doors opening onto a garden terrace. Furnishings are made from cotton wood and rattan with glass paintings adorning the walls, and a central four poster bed. Suites are also equipped with in room safe, chaise longue, mini bar and music system; some suites also include their own private plunge pools.The hotel's restaurant with its silver leaf ceiling offers views across the rice paddies of the Kedu plain and Borobudur with its surrounding volcanoes. It serves a mixture of Indonesian and Western cuisine while the Rotunda Bar overlooks the dining room.
