Fly to Beijing
Overnight flight from London (regional connections available) direct to Beijing with British Airways. (N)

Beijing
Arrive and transfer to the Beijing Xin Qiao Hotel for 3 nights. The rest of the day is at leisure. A welcome dinner will be held this evening. (D)
Beijing
Morning visit to the key historic sites of Tiananmen Square and the adjacent Forbidden City. After lunch, visit one of Beijing's traditional hutong neighbourhoods by pedicab. (B)
Great Wall of China
Full-day excursion to the Great Wall at Mutianyu, a scenic section of the wall north of Beijing. (B, L)
Xi'an
Morning at leisure. Afternoon high-speed train journey to Xi'an, then transfer to the Grand Noble Xian hotel for a 2-night stay. (B)
Terracotta Warriors - Xi'an
Travel to the legendary Terracotta Warriors, followed by lunch at a local restaurant and witness a noodle throwing demonstration. Afternoon visit to the city's atmospheric Muslim quarter and the Great Mosque. Evening performance of a Tang dynasty show. (B, L, D)
To Nanjing
Morning high-speed train to the city of Nanjing, then stay overnight at the Grand Trustel Mandarin Garden. Afternoon visit to the imposing Zhonghua city gate and the Confucius temple, then take a cruise along the Qinhuai river. (B)
Shanghai
Visit the Memorial Hall of the Nanjing Massacre, then continue to Ming Xiaoling, the mausoleum of the Hongwu Emperor, founder of the Ming Dynasty. Afternoon high-speed train to Shanghai. Stay at the Central Hotel for 2 nights. (B)
Shanghai
Morning visit to the Jade Buddha temple, the Yu Garden and a walk along the historic Bund. Afternoon at leisure. A farewell dinner will be held tonight. (B, D)
