Siem Reap
Arrive in Siem Reap, gateway city to the Angkor ruins of Cambodia. Transfer to Lotus Blanc Hotel for a four-night stay. (N)

Spend the full day touring the temples of Angkor on a private excursion, tailored to you. You may wish to visit the temple complex of Angkor Wat, the crowning achievement of the Khmer kingdom; the temples of Bayon, with their iconic smiling Buddha faces; Ta Prohm, a 12th-century monastic temple whose ruins are entangled by jungle greenery; and the ninth-century Ruluos Temples, some of the oldest surviving Khmer buildings. Siem Reap
This morning, see the sun rise over Angkor Wat as you enjoy a picnic breakfast. The rest of your day is at leisure, perhaps take an optional helicopter flight over Angkor Wat and Tonle Sap, or a shared Khmer cookery class this afternoon. (B)

Spend the day at leisure, enjoying the facilities at your hotel, exploring Siem Reap’s bustling centre, or visiting more of the hallowed ruins of the Khmer kingdom. (B)
Battambang
Early this morning, you transfer by road to Battambang, stopping en route to visit Ang Trapeang Thmor – a protected habitat of the rare sarus crane. Upon arrival, transfer to Bambu Hotel for a two-night stay in a suite. (B, L)

Enjoy a half-day tour of Battambang city, set on the Sangkae River. Your tour includes visits to the temples of Wat Banon and Wat Ek Phnom; and the Battambang Museum, which houses an interesting collection of historical artefacts. The afternoon is at leisure. (B)
Phnom Penh
Today, travel to Phnom Penh by road. En route, enjoy excursions to the floating village of Kampong Luong, set on Tonle Sap; and to Kampong Chhnang, where you can watch villagers producing traditional Khmer pottery, including jars, vases, piggy banks and cooking pots. After arriving in the capital city, stay at La Rose Suites for two nights. (B)
Phnom Penh
Spend a full day touring Phnom Penh, including lunch at a local restaurant. You visit the resplendent Royal Palace, residence of the current monarch; the National Museum, with its large collection of cultural and archaeological exhibits; Tuol Seng Genocide Museum, which chronicles the Cambodian genocide of the 1970s; and the Killing Fields, where victims of the genocide were taken and are today memorialised. Phnom Penh • Tatai
Morning is at leisure. This afternoon, transfer to Tatai, a riverside village set amid the Cardamom Mountains. Stay at Canvas & Orchids Retreat – a tranquil eco-lodge set on the Tatai River – for three nights. (B, D)

Join a shared excursion to Tatai Waterfall from your eco-lodge, cruising by boat along a tributary into the heart of the Cardamom rainforest. A picnic lunch will be served beside the waterfalls. (B, L, D)
