Sri Aman

Travel by road through rural Sarawak passing lush green paddies, pepper plantations and local villages. Stay at Seri Semanggang for two nights. (B, D)

Batang Ai

This morning travel to Batang Ai Longhouse – an authentic dwelling of the local Iban people who were once feared for head-hunting practices. Visit a traditional longhouse to learn about the life of the local Iban tribe and witness a traditional dance (ngajat). (B, L)

Kuching

Travel back to Kuching for a city tour visiting temples, markets and historical buildings. Walk through the Main Bazaar, one of the oldest streets and observe the antiques and handicrafts outlets found here. Stay at the Riverside Majestic Hotel Puteri Wing for one night. (B)

Fly to Kota Kinabalu

Fly to Kota Kinabalu, a vibrant coastal city, and stay two nights at Citadines Waterfront. (B)

Kota Kinabalu

Depart early to journey to Poring Hot Springs and take a walk around the beautiful compound. Continue to the nearby Kipungit Waterfall to admire this spectacular natural wonder. Resume the drive back to Kota Kinabalu, stopping at Mount Kinabalu National Park. (B, L)

Fly to Sandakan • Sepilok

Fly to Sandakan and transfer to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre to see the morning feeding of the reserve’s orangutans, which are being reintroduced into the wild. Visit the nearby Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, then stay one night at the Sepilok Nature Lodge. (B)

Kinabatangan

Travel by vehicle and a two-hour boat journey passing local villages and lush rainforest to Kinabatangan Wetlands Resort for a two night stay. Board a river cruise to see proboscis monkeys, gibbons, pygmy elephants and a variety of birdlife. (B, L, D)

Kinabatangan

Rise early for a river cruise to Kelenanap Oxbow Lake. Visit a local fishing village, Kampung Abai and interact with local Orang Sungai, a river people who have long inhabited the area. After dinner head out on a night river safari to see some of the jungle’s nocturnal inhabitants. (B, L, D)

Danum valley

Travel by boat and shared overland transfer south to Danum Valley to search for wild orangutans, walk in the rainforest, along canopy walkways, and during a night spotlight tour. Stay 2 nights at Borneo Rainforest Lodge. (B, L, D)

Danum valley

This morning travel along the Viewpoint Trail to visit burial sites, waterfalls, and spectacular observation points. This evening, venture into the jungle on foot with a guide seeking local wildlife. (B, L, D)

Fly to Kota Kinabalu and stay at the Citadines Waterfront for one night. (B)

Fly to London
