Gaya Island Resort is set within the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park off the coast of Kota Kinabalu. A natural sanctuary set among ancient rainforest with a stunning outline of Mount Kinabalu on the horizon, the resort's architecture pays homage to the local Sabahan tradition. All villas and two-bedroom suites use local materials both inside and out and blend harmoniously with the tropical surrounds. The resort runs an activity programme featuring guided nature walks, snorkelling and sunset cruises. Note: A compulsory Sabah Parks Conservation Fee of RM 31.80 per guest (adult/child) for first day, and an additional RM 21.20 per person for each additional day must be paid directly to the resort upon check out. Sabah Parks, an organisation set up as the caretaker of Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park conservation triangle, uses these fees in support of their efforts towards preserving the rich ecosystem of the region.
