Bohemia to Berlin
Itinerary
Arrive Prague, Czech Republic
Fly from London to Prague, or by rail via Brussels or Vienna, and transfer to the Art Deco Imperial Hotel for 2 nights.
Prague
Enjoy a day at leisure to explore Prague. The Czech capital is compact, walkable, and paved with history, not least the medieval Charles Bridge and the gothic-spired Prague Castle, complete with astronomical clock. Further highlights include the Old Town Square, Vitas Cathedral, the transforming Franz Kafka Statue, and the hilltop lookout of Petrin.
Karlovy Vary
Travel north by train to the Czech spa town of Karlovy Vary (Karlsbad), where you are met and transferred to Grandhotel Pupp for 3 nights.
Karlovy Vary
Enjoy a day at leisure to explore Karlovy Vary, one of UNESCO’s ‘Great Spa Towns of Europe’. Founded in the 14th century, the city was named after Charles IV, King of Bohemia. It’s most famous for its many mineral-rich hot springs – including gushing geysers – as well as its handsome 19th-century buildings. You could visit the various colonnades, which house springs for both drinking and bathing, and even venture underground to see where the thermal waters emerge. Or perhaps journey by funicular to the Diana Lookout Tower for an elevated view of the city and its forested surrounds.
Cheb & Karlovy Vary
Travel by train for approximately 50 minutes to visit the quiet town of Cheb, home to the remains of a 12th-century castle and typified by traditional pastel-hued buildings. Alternatively, spend another day at leisure in Karlovy Vary.
Dresden, Germany
Transfer from Karlovy Vary to Dresden, pausing en route to visit Augustusburg, a former hunting lodge of the Electors of Saxony. Continue to Dresden and check in at Hotel Taschenbergpalais for 3 nights.
Dresden
Enjoy a day at leisure to explore the historic centre of Dresden, much of which has been carefully reconstructed. Set on the banks of the long and winding Elbe, Dresden brims with imposing landmarks, including its palatial castle and the baroque Frauenkirche church – both restored to their former glory.
Görlitz & Dresden
Travel with a private driver to visit the Royal Porcelain Manufactory in Meissen before proceeding east to the picturesque town of Görlitz. Enjoy a highlights tour of the town with a private guide before time at leisure. In the afternoon, return to Dresden.
Berlin
Travel from Dresden to Berlin by train and check in at the Hilton Berlin for 2 nights.
Berlin

Admire landmarks such as the Reichstag, Gendarmenmarkt square and Checkpoint Charlie up close; uncover history and culture in notable museums and galleries, such as the Humbolt Forum and the Topography of Terror Museum; and sample the eclectic menu of the city’s restaurants, bars and cafes.
