Situated in the province of Lapland and the northernmost city in Sweden, Kiruna is 200 km north of the Arctic Circle. Due to the picturesque surrounding countryside, the town is popular destination for winter sports including dog-sled and reindeer tours. The Abisko National Park, home to the country’s largest Sami population is located a short drive away from the city.
Kiruna is also famous for being the arrival city for travel to the renowned Icehotel at Jukkasjärvi. The town is also an excellent destination in which to view the Midnight Sun during the summer and the Northern Lights in the winter.
