Jaen • Granada
Morning drive to Granada via Jaen, renowned for its olive oil and the medieval Santa Catalina Castle. Stay 2 nights at the Parador de Granada, set within the grounds of the Alhambra complex. (B)

Full day at leisure to visit the magnificent Moorish stronghold of the Alhambra Palace, the Arab-Jewish quarter of Albaicin and the Generalife gardens. (B)
Ronda
Morning drive to the town of Ronda. Set either side of a gaping gorge in the mountains, it has one of the most dramatic settings in all of Spain. Stay overnight at the Parador de Ronda, overlooking the gorge itself. (B)

Morning at leisure to relax or visit the bullring and its museum. Afternoon drive to Carmona. Stay 2 nights at the Parador de Carmona, set in a 14th-century Moorish fortress. (B)

Day at leisure to explore this picturesque hilltop town dotted with palaces, majestic Mudéjar churches and two Moorish forts. Alternatively visit Seville, approximately 40 minutes by car. (B)
Zafra • Mérida
Morning drive to Mérida, via the town of Zafra, known as Little Seville due its Moorish heritage and pretty white houses. Afternoon at leisure to explore Mérida, the capital of the Extremadura region, renowned for its Roman ruins including a Roman theatre and Temple of Diana. Stay overnight at the Parador de Mérida, set in an 18th-century former convent. (B)
