and historic attractions, many of them
Unesco world heritage sites. Starting
in Madrid, travel to some of the most
important towns: visit Segovia and its
remarkable Roman aqueduct, walk
along the medieval walls of Avila, tour
the old town of Salamanca and explore
the eclectic sights of Toledo, known as
‘the city of three cultures’.

Fly to Madrid. Private transfer to Hotel Palacio
San Martin (or similar) for 1 night. Time at
leisure to explore the Spanish capital. (N)
Transfer to Segovia, which features a Unescolisted
old town and Roman aqueduct.
Take a private city tour including entrance
to the Alcazar. Tuck into a lunch of roast
suckling pig, a traditional Spanish dish, before
moving on to Avila. This town is best known
for its well-preserved medieval walls, which
feature more than 80 towers and nine gates.
Long sections of the wall are walkable. Private
tour before transferring to Salamanca. Stay for
2 nights at the Hotel Hospes Palacio De San

city of Salamanca including the 18th-century
Plaza Mayor, the 15th-century House of Shells,
Salamanca’s Old and New Cathedral and the

range of sights to see including churches,
