This in-depth tour concentrates on
the history, technical innovations
and influence of the movement of
Catalan modernism and its figurehead
Antoni Gaudí. Travel across the vibrant
city of Barcelona with experts Dr
Anne Anderson and Monica Bohm-
Duchen, seeing how Gaudí and his
contemporaries shaped its landscape,
noticing in particular their extraordinary
contrast in styles. Gaudí rarely drew
detailed plans for his works, preferring
to create them as three-dimensional
scale models, which he modified as he
went along. This extraordinary approach
resulted in works that anticipated and
influenced modern construction methods
and uniquely captured the artistic and
cultural sentiments of his time.
