Sintra is famous for its spectacular villas and palaces, which have attracted visitors for years, and is protected by Unesco as a world heritage site. The most famous building in Sintra is Pena Palace, which was built in the 1840s. Its architecture is medieval style and the interior is decorated with late Victorian furnishings.
