Pinhão holidays

Located at the junction of the Douro and Pinhão rivers, 22km upstream from Peso da Régua, the small town of Pinhão is the centre of the Port winemaking region, and a place where the soil and climatic conditions are considered to be at their very best. One of the best times to visit the town is in autumn for the annual grape harvest. Attractions close by include Sabrosa is Vila Mateus, birthplace of Ferdinand Magellan.
