Cascais is the centre of Costa do Sol. This once quaint little fishing village has grown into a colourful popular town, however elements of its origins are still found at the fish auction that takes place every afternoon by the beach. The Museu do Mar contains old photographs and paintings showing the history of the town.
The quaint streets in the centre of town, with numerous restaurants and shops, are perfect for exploring on foot or visit the Church of Noosa Senhora Da Assuncao. The best beach to spend a day on is the beach of Guincho, backed by sand dunes and a variety of terrace-restaurants that overlook the beach.
