Set in a woodland park, the Vidago Palace was originally built for use by the King of Portugal, who often visited the area for its thermal waters. The palace was turned into a luxury hotel in 2010. The hotel still features its original belle époque pink facade, grand staircases and an impressive ballroom. There is a strikingly modern spa wing, designed by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Álvaro Siza Vieira, which features a vitality pool, Turkish baths, hammams and aromatherapy.
