Fly from London Gatwick to Oslo with Norwegian Airlines. On arrival in Oslo, pick up your hire car and drive into the city centre. Later today, explore Oslo on foot or via public transport. Recommended sites include the famous Vigeland sculpture park, Viking ship museum, Kon-tiki museum and the Fram arctic exploration ship and museum. Stay overnight at the Comfort Hotel Borsparken (or similar). (N)
Today after breakfast, leave Oslo and drive west along the charming Halling Valley via Geilo before crossing the wild Hardanger Mountain Plateau to Fossli, stopping to view the thundering Voringsfoss waterfall. Continue to Lofthus via the Mabodal canyon. Stay overnight at Hotel Ullensvang (or similar). (B, D)
This morning, leave Lofthus and continue west taking the ferry between Kinsarvik and Kvanndal before driving along the beautiful Hardanger fjord, known for its fruit orchards. On arrival in Bergen, pick up your Bergen Card, which gives you free access or discounts to museums. We recommend taking the funicular up Mount Floien for views out over the city and a visit to the famous Fish and Flower market. Stay overnight at the Augustin Hotel (or similar). (B)
After breakfast today, depart Bergen and drive north-east to the town of Voss before descending the Naeroy valley to Flam. Board the Flam railway to Myrdal for stunning views across the valley dotted with waterfalls. Return to Flam and drive to Gudvangen where you will board the sightseeing boat for a cruise along the Naeroy and Sogn fjords. End the day with a drive via Sogndal to Leikanger. Stay overnight at the Sognefjord Hotel (or similar). (B)
The drive today heads north towards Loen travelling along the scenic road passing the Jostedal glacier before descending into the stunning Nord fjord. Make a detour at Olden and visit the famous Briksdal glacial spur, the most accessible of the spurs that leave the main Jostedal glacier. Stay overnight at the Loenfjord Hotel (or similar). (B, D)
Today's drive heads east via the picturesque village of Hellesylt where you board the ferry for a cruise along the Geiranger fjord, one of the most picturesque in the country. Stay overnight at Hotel Geiranger (or similar). (B, D)
After breakfast, begin the journey back to Oslo driving via the famous Serpentine road with stunning views of the fjords and mountains passing by Lake Vaga before descending the magnificent Gudbrands valley to Lillehammer. Continue via Lake Mjosa, the largest in Norway, on to Oslo. Stay overnight at the Holmenkollen Park Hotel (or similar). (B)
Return your rental car to the relevant drop off point at the airport and fly with Norwegian Airlines back to London. (B)
