Lucca holidays

With complete Renaissance city walls, the city of Lucca is one of the most charming in Tuscany. As the birthplace of Giacomo Puccini, the city is steeped in musical history and honours its favourite son with an annual music festival in the months of July and August at the lakeside theatre, Torre del lago. Visitors to the city can view the elegant Piazza San Michele and the 12th century Church of San Michele with its arched facade.
