Vulcano Part of the Aeolian Island chain, in ancient mythology Vulcano was the workplace of the God of Fire and blacksmiths, Hephaestus, who according to legend was the only Olympian who returned to Olympus after being exiled. The name of the island comes from the Roman God of Fire, Vulcan. Today visitors are attracted to the three volcanic craters on the island which can be explored, and the medicinal qualities of the various hot springs.
