Modica holidays

Modica Located on the confluence of the rivers Janni Mauru and Pozzo dei Pruni, the modern town is divided into two areas; Modica Alt which is built on the hill and is connected to Modica Bassa, the lower town via flights of steps. This Unesco world heritage site first came to prominence in 212 BC with a rebellion against its Roman rulers. The town contains excellent examples of Sicilian Baroque architecture with the Duomo and the San Pietro being highlights for visitors.
