The town of Selva di Fasano is known locally as the ‘Italian balcony on the Orient’ as its high vantage point allows for excellent views of the surrounding area and nearby buildings, which have a Middle Eastern architectural style.
The town is surrounded by forests of pine, oak, cypress and chestnut. Near to the town is the Zoo Safari Fasanolandia, Europe’s largest wild animal park. The town itself is small but picturesque and is centred around a trulli-style church, the Trullo del Signore.
