Lake Myvatn holidays

Lake Myvatn is a shallow eutrophic lake that lies in the north-east of Iceland along the volcanically active zone that splits Iceland from south-west to north-east. Created about 2,300 years ago through volcanic activity in the area, the lake today is part of lush wetlands that attract vast numbers of migratory birds in summer. Many unique volcanic landforms also surround the lake, which is known as an area of outstanding natural beauty.
