Fly to Keflavik international airport. Transfer
to the city centre, staying overnight at Hotel
Reykjavik Natura (or similar). (N)
Full day exploring the Snaefellsnes peninsula,
known as ‘Iceland in a Nutshell’; take in
waterfalls, glaciers, pretty fishing villages, basalt rock formations and visit the amazing
Vatnshellir cave complex. Overnight in west
Iceland at the B59 Hotel. (B)
Explore the popular Golden Circle route,
including the Thingvellir National Park,
Gullfoss waterfall and Geysir hot spring area.
Overnight at Hotel Fludir (or similar). (B, D)
Continue along the southern coast, exploring
Seljalandsfoss and Skogafoss waterfalls,
passing the vast, surreal lava landscape
of Eldhraun. Stay at the Fosshotel Glacier
Lagoon for 1 night. (B)
Visit Vatnajokull National Park, named
after Europe’s largest glacier. Continue to
Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon, with icebergs
floating in the deep glacial waters. Travel to
Vik. En route, visit Reynisfjara beach, where
you can take a walk on the black sands.
Overnight at KEA Hotel Katla. (B, D)
Return to Reykjavik via the Reykjanes coast and
the world-famous Blue Lagoon. Stay overnight
at Hotel Reykjavik Natura (or similar). (B)
Transfer to Keflavik airport for your flight
