Hotel Budir lies on the south-western shore of the stunning Snaefellsnes peninsula. Situated in a lava field near the shore, the hotel provides panoramic views out to sea and also of the Snaefellsjokull glacier made famous by Jules Verne's book Voyage to the Centre of the Earth. There are 28 well-appointed rooms decorated with light colours and dark wood furniture with large windows where it's possible to spot seals or even a whale in the bay. Rooms are equipped with a satellite television, CD player, DVD player and wireless internet. The hotel's restaurant is regularly ranked as one of the best in Iceland serving a variety of Icelandic influenced dishes. The chefs menu changes daily and uses local seasonal ingredients. Other facilities and activities include the hotel bar, communal area with sofas and coastline paths, which guests can explore.
