The Secret Cyclades: Serifos, Syros & Tinos

This island-hopping tour explore three of Greece’s lesser known Cyclades islands: Serifos, Syros and Tinos. Enjoy some time in Athens before moving on to spend a couple of days on each of these tranquil islands, which are a far cry from the crowds of Mykonos and Santorini.

Fly to Athens with Aegean Air. Transfer to the Pythagorion Hotel (or similar) for 1 night. Time at leisure to enjoy the Greek capital. (N)

DAY 2: Athens • Serifos

Athens • Serifos

Transfer to the port of Piraeus, for the 2.5-hour crossing to Serifos in the western Cyclades. Transfer to the Dorkas Hotel (or similar) for 2 nights. Free time to explore the local town of Livádion. (B)

DAY 3: Serifos

Serifos

Full day to explore Serifos, an island of raw, rugged beauty, steep mountains and broad bays. Be sure to take a ride up to Hora, the island’s ‘capital’, a maze of twisting streets with a neoclassical town hall and a blue-domed church. (B)

DAY 4: Serifos • Syros

Serifos • Syros

Morning transfer to the port and a 4-hour ferry crossing to Syros. Check in to the Brazzera Hotel (or similar) for 3 nights, a simple but utterly charming property right on the beach. (B)

Day at leisure to explore the area. (B)

Syros

Two full days to enjoy Syros at leisure. Despite its size, Syros is the most populated Cyclades island and the administrative centre of the region. The main town, Ermoupoli, is a maze of pink and white buildings, tumbling down the hillside and is well worth exploring. (B)

DAY 7: Syros • Tinos

Syros • Tinos

Transfer and ferry to Tinos, a journey of just 30 minutes. Stay for 3 nights at the Anthea Boutique Hotel (or similar). (B)

Day at leisure to explore Tinos (B)

Tinos

Explore Tinos, known for its Orthodox pilgrimage site, the Church of the Annunciation, in the port and main town (also known as Hora). Outside the town, the island is a patchwork of 40 marble-ornamented villages found in hidden bays and terraced hillsides. (B)

DAY 10: Tinos • Athens

Tinos • Athens

Return to Athens via a 4-hour crossing to Rafina Port, then transfer to the Pythagorion Hotel (or similar) for 1 night. Free time to enjoy a meal in the Plaka neighbourhood, surrounding the Acropolis. (B)

Transfer to Athens airport and fly home. (B)
