Itinerary
Fly to Athens
Fly to Athens and transfer to the Amalia Hotel (or similar) for 1 night. (N)
Epidaurus • Mycenae • Nafplio
Collect your hire car (based on group B car rental). Morning drive to the ancient theatre of Epidaurus, which is renowned for its exceptional acoustics, via the Corinth Canal. Continue to Mycenae, the seat of King Agamemnon. Explore the ruined city and its excellent museum. Stay overnight at the Amalia Nafplio (or similar). (B)
Olympia
Today, depart for Olympia, the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games, through the beautiful scenery of Peloponnese. Visit the archaeological site and the museum of Olympia. Stay overnight at the Amalia Hotel (or similar). (B)
Delphi
Drive through the plains of Ilia and Achaia towards Delphi, located on the slopes of Mount Parnassus. Visit the Sanctuary of Apollo, the Treasury of the Athenians and the Delphi Museum, which houses valuable pieces of art such as the renowned bronze statue of a charioteer. Stay for 1 night at the Amalia Hotel (or similar). (B)
Kalambaka
Drive to Kalambaka, passing through picturesque the villages and towns of central Greece. Visit the breathtaking monasteries of Meteora, perched on huge granite rocks. Each monastery contains priceless historical and religious treasures. Stay overnight at the Amalia Hotel (or similar). (B)
Thermopylae • Athens
Drive to Athens via Thermopylae to view the monument to Leonidas and the bravery of 300 Spartans at the Battle of Thermopylae. Stay overnight at the Amalia Hotel (or similar). (B)
Fly home
Morning at leisure. Transfer to Athens airport and return your car hire in time for your flight home. (B)
