Of all the Ritz hotels dotting the European landscape, the Paris Ritz has perhaps the most glorious history: established in 1898 by Cesar Ritz, there are suites named in honour of Marcel Proust, the Duke of Windsor and Coco Chanel and the Hemingway Bar is rich in the period atmosphere the writer so loved. Many rooms overlook the fashionable Place Vendome, and there are shops and restaurants nearby including the gourmet L'Espadon Grill (al fresco in summer). There is also dining and dancing in the Ritz Club. Facilities and services include a health club, massage, sauna and business centre.
