Founded in the early 13th century, Tallinn has been influenced by periods of Danish, German, Swedish and Russian control. Day 4: Castles & Pärnu - Riga, LatviaDrive to Riga in Latvia, stopping en route at the 13th-century ruins of Sigulda Castle, Turaida Castle in the Gauja Valley and the beachside town of Parnu. Stay 2 nights at the Opera Hotel & Spa (or similar). (B)
Day 5: RigaThis morning, tour Riga, the Baltics’ largest capital. The city’s extensive history has left a legacy of fine architecture, including art nouveau. Highlights include visits to the cathedral with an organ recital to hear the impressive acoustics of its Romanesque dome, the castle, St Peter’s Church and the House of Blackheads. Visit Riga Central Market and try some traditional Latvian delicacies. Spend the afternoon at leisure. (B)
Day 6: Rundale Palace - The Hill of Crosses - Vilnius, LithuaniaJourney over the border from Latvia to Lithuania via Rundale Palace and the Hill of Crosses, a place of national pilgrimage. Continue to Vilnius and stay 2 nights at the Vilnia Hotel (or similar). (B)
Day 7: VilniusYour morning tour of Vilnius includes visits to Cathedral Square, the Gate of Dawn, St Casimir’s Church, the Holy Spirit Church, the KGB Museum and Gediminas’ Tower. Spend the afternoon at leisure, or go on an optional visit to Trakai Island Castle. (B)

The Opera Hotel & Spa is located facing the Opera Park in the central business district of Riga and is only a five minute walk to the old town and Latvian National Opera House.
