The coastal resort of Saranda is a popular tourist destination among Albanians and can also be visited on a day trip by ferry from Corfu, only 3 kilometres away. There is a small fortress situated on a hill at the entrance to the city which gives excellent views of the adjacent valleys and the Mediterranean.
