Berat Granted World Heritage status in 2008, this large Albanian town is one of the oldest in the country. With its Ottoman designed architecture, Barat is sometimes referred as the “Town of 1001 windows”. The old town is divided into three sections, Gorica, Kala and Mangalem. Highlights include the old town and the 2nd century BC fortress.
