Pico Bonito is the largest national park in Honduras. It consists of varied types of forest at different elevations with abundant wildlife including over 420 species of bird, as well as deer, jaguar, armadillo, wild pig, tepescuintle and white-faced and spider monkey. The central 500 sq km of the reserve are still largely unexplored but marked trails around the edges provide excellent opportunities to view the diversity of the national park
