Honduras is in the heart of Central America, sharing similar landscapes and cultures as its neighbours, Guatemala, Nicaragua and El Salvador. However, its Caribbean coastline rivals them all.
There are many things to do in Honduras, including visiting the Mayan ruins of Copan, renowned for their remarkable sculptures and intricately carved stelae, located close to the Guatemalan border in the west of the country.
The Pico Bonito National Park contains lush rainforest, rivers and waterfalls and is near the Caribbean coast. Stay at The Lodge & Spa at Pico Bonito and explore the rainforest, home to abundant wildlife including more than 400 species of birds and the elusive jaguar, or take a boat ride through the mangrove lagoons of Cuero y Salado, a coastal manatee and wildlife refuge.
On a tailor-made itinerary to Honduras, we would highly recommend visiting the Bay Islands, as the crystal-clear sea offers excellent snorkelling. You can also visit the colonial city of Comayagua, Pulhapanzak Falls and the picturesque Lake Yojoa, for its excellent birdlife.
