Fly to Guatemala City and transfer to Antigua for 2 nights. Take a walking tour around the picturesque cobbled streets of the colonial city, lined with pastel coloured houses, churches and plazas. (B)
Drive to Lake Atitlán, via a coffee farm to learn about the importance of coffee in Guatemala's history, as well as the Mayan Traditions Museum. Explore the lake on a full-day tour visiting traditional villages inhabited by colourfully dressed locals. (B)
Visit the vibrant market of Chichicastenango, one of the most famous indigenous markets in Central America, where hundreds of Mayan people from nearby villages come to trade their wares. Return to Antigua. (B, L)
