Luxury Private Tour in brief

Day 1: Fly to San José

Fly to San José with British Airways. Transfer to the Xandari Hotel for 1 night. (N)

Day 2: To the Osa peninsula:

Fly to Puerto Jiménez on the tip of the Osa peninsula, where the Pacific ocean meets the Golfo Dulce. Transfer to El Remanso Lodge or Lapa Rios Lodge, set in private rainforest reserves, for a 3-night stay. (B, D)

Days 3-4: Osa peninsula:

At leisure or take an optional excursion to explore the rainforest and ocean. Self-guided trails from the lodges allow guests to experience the natural beauty of the area at their own pace. (B, L, D)

Day 5: Fly to San José • Arenal

Fly to San José and transfer to Arenal. Stay for 2 nights at the Nayara Gardens hotel with views of the volcano. Optional evening excursion to the hot springs. (B)

Day 6: Arenal

Take a tour of Caño Negro with a boat trip on the Rio Frio. The area is home to an impressive number of endangered migratory birds, as well as monkeys, sloths and caimans. (B, L)

Day 7: Monteverde

Travel by boat and road to Monteverde for a 2-night stay at Senda Monteverde, ideally located just minutes from the famous cloud forest reserve. Take in the views of the tropical gardens and distant Pacific Ocean from the open-air porch of your casita or explore the hotel’s network of nature trails to spot roaming coatis or agoutis. (B)

Day 8: Monteverde

Early morning excursion into the cloud forest to look for the region’s amazing birdlife, including the elusive quetzal. Afternoon at leisure or take optional excursions. (B)

Day 9: Nicoya peninsula

Transfer to the Pacific coast on the Nicoya peninsula. Relax for 3 nights at Hotel Punta Islita (partial ocean view room) situated on a hillside with superb ocean views. (B)

Days 10-11: Nicoya peninsula

At leisure or enjoy optional excursions and activities. (B)

Days 12-13: Fly to London via San José

Transfer by road (approx 5 hours) or fly to San José, for a return overnight flight to London with British Airways arriving the next day. (B) (N)
