You may choose to extend your time in Costa Rica at any of the above-mentioned destinations or visit additional areas suitable for access by self-drive, such as the tropical lowlands and forests around Sarapiqui, and the Central Pacific coast, including the Manuel Antonio National Park area. It is also possible to add destinations such as Tortuguero and the Corcovado National Park in to your itinerary, however, these areas are either not suitable to access by self-drive or would require long drives, so alternative transportation arrangements would be made for you.
