Sarapiquis Rainforest Lodge is an ecolodge and conservation centre located in the rainforest on the edge of the Tirimbina Biological Reserve. Designed to resemble a 15th-century indigenous village, it was built in a style inspired by the indigenous pre-Columbian palenque architecture. The main building houses the restaurant, bar, coffee shop and gift shop, while the 36 rooms are located in separate buildings amid the gardens. We recommend staying in one of the 24 de luxe rooms located in the round thatched palenque structures. Each de luxe room features locally made furniture, a ceiling fan, private bathroom and covered terrace. The lush surrounding gardens include a botanical garden and, on site, there is a research centre, a museum devoted to rainforest ecology and indigenous history, and some pre-Columbian burial tombs.
