Napier Located in the Hawke’s Bay wine region, Napier is a coastal town renowned for its 1930s art deco architecture and Mediterranean climate with more than 2,000 hours of sunshine a year. It make an ideal base for exploring the nearby wineries of this pretty region, as well as Cape Kidnappers, home to the world’s largest mainland gannet colony. In town, Napier has the Hawkes Bay Museum and the National Aquarium of New Zealand. There are views of the coast and surroundings from Bluff Hill.
