Accommodation rating: Superior

A superior hotel at Ayers Rock Resort, Desert Gardens Hotel is set among magnificent ghost gums and flowering native shrubs. Centrally located to all resort and touring facilities, it is only a short stroll to Desert Gardens' numerous lookouts, where you can view one of Australia's best sunsets, with the spectacular play of colours across the face of Uluru (Ayers Rock). Once the sun sets, savour Australian native delicacies at White Gums Restaurant. Guests at Ayers Rock Resort can also take advantage of free Indigenous activities. A schedule will be provided upon arrival at the hotel and activities may include guided garden walks, Indigenous art markets, interactive didgeridoo playing, boomerang throwing, bush yarns, cultural dances and indigenous art classes for children. Didgeridoo playing is, for cultural reasons, only undertaken by males and we request your understanding and respect for indigenous culture during this activity. Please note: Desert Gardens Hotel has advised of the redevelopment of the restaurant area, which is scheduled to take place from 5 January to 31 March 2017. They expect the impact of the renovations on the guest experience to be limited, with works confined to the restaurant area of the hotel with no major demolition taking place. The hotel will be offering an alternative breakfast service at Geckos Cafe located in Town Square, daily between 6.30am to 10am for the period of the renovation. A shuttle service will operate between the hotel and Town Square. For lunch and dinner guests can choose from the resort's variety of dining options.
