Accommodation rating: Superior

Located in one of the most spectacular and remote parts of Australia, Bullo River Station is a family run homestead in the northwestern corner of the Northern Territory, easily accessible by light aircraft. Surrounded by the Victoria River and rugged hills inscribed with Aboriginal rock art, this vast property is home to around 9,000 Brahman-cross cattle, wallaby, dingo, wild buffalo, a myriad of native and migratory birds, fish and crocodile. Twelve en suite rooms, located near the main house, have sliding doors offering access to the lawns and swimming pool. Breakfasts are usually served on the veranda and informal dinners are served in the main dining room. The menu focuses heavily on organic prime beef and fresh barramundi.
