Art Deco Cottages at Tarraleah offers luxury self-contained accommodation in the Tasmanian Central Highlands. The cottages were built in the 1930s for the hydro-electric workers' families with art deco flair by Tasmanian craftsmen. Each original home has been lovingly restored with period and contemporary features, with three or four bedrooms, sitting room with fire, two bathrooms and a laundry. In addition, the Scholars House, a former school, features 10 modern en suite studio rooms with loft bedroom and shared kitchen/dining area. The cafe and restaurant are located in the main lodge, which guests are able to use, and the activity centre offers cycling, kayaking, fishing and wildlife tours.
