Named after the Choctaw word for ‘happy home’, this 19th-century mansion is a landmark of Vicksburg and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It sits slightly raised on a grassy slope, flanked by leafy trees along an attractive residential road. The Greek Revival exterior features a striking pillared canopy.
Inside, Anchuca’s style is classical, with ornate drapes, handsome mantelpieces, hanging portraits, four-poster beds and antique wooden fixtures.
