Named after the Choctaw word for ‘happy home’, this 19th-century mansion is a landmark of Vicksburg and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It sits slightly raised on a grassy slope, flanked by leafy trees along an attractive residential road. The Greek Revival exterior features a striking pillared canopy.
Inside, Anchuca’s style is classical, with ornate drapes, handsome mantelpieces, hanging portraits, four-poster beds and antique wooden fixtures. Room amenities include flat-screen cable television, coffee makers, mini fridges, and complimentary Wi-Fi. There is a library-cum-tearoom, a classically shaped outdoor swimming pool, and outdoor courtyard seating. Breakfast is served daily in the Garden Room.
