The best time to visit Zimbabwe depends very much upon your particular interests as the climate is warm all year round.
The traditional safari season runs from the end of April to October. This is when vegetation cover is thin and the wildlife is drawn to water sources, providing the best opportunities to spot the animals. Be prepared for the hottest temperatures from September through to November.
Zimbabwe’s so called ‘green’ season, when most of the rain falls, runs from November to the beginning of January and offers excellent rates, phenomenal birdwatching and the chance to see newborn animals.
If you want to witness Victoria Falls in full flood then visit between February and May at the end of the rainy season, although be prepared to get wet if you go up close! However, the falls are spectacular at other times of the year when the incredible rock formations underneath the waters are visible.
