Situated on the seasonal Rhino Island in Lake Kariba, a large man made reservoir constructed in the late1950s, Rhino Safari Camp lies within the boundaries of the Matusadona National Park. The park has been declared an "intensive protection zone" to accommodate the release of black rhino into the park. The camp has 6 comfortable en-suite thatched chalets raised on wooden platforms along the lake shore, offering stunning views out over Lake Kariba. The main lodge or "boma" has both upstairs and downstairs seating, while the camp cuisine is focused on fresh local produce prepared daily. There is also a camp bar offering beverages throughout the day and a small reference library for guests.
