Camp Amalinda is situated in an ancient Bushmen's shelter in the Matobo Hills, a Unesco world heritage site. The hill's stunning scenery and geological formations have been home to humans for more than 40,000 years. Remnants of this history can be seen in the profusion of rock art that is found in the area. The camp consists of nine individually thatched rooms and two honeymoon suites, designed and built around the rocks themselves. All accommodations are tastefully decorated and furnished with African themes and colours against a background of the rock itself. The suites also incorporate historical memorabilia connected to Zimbabwe's past. The camp's lounge and bar area provide panoramic views out over the hills and the Matobo National Park while meals are served alfresco on the camps large teak dining table. There is also a camp library and games room, while, at the base of the camp, lies a naturally formed rock swimming pool. Other facilities include the Safari Spa offering a full range of treatments and aromatherapy. The camp also has a range of activities available to guests, from walking safaris in search of endangered black rhinos to community visits and historical tours to World's View, the resting place of Cecil Rhodes.
