Tafika Camp, located in the South Luangwa National Park, is a seasonal camp open from 1st May to 30th November. It is situated just outside the Nsefu sector of the park, with wonderful vistas of the Luangwa River. The camp accommodates a maximum of twelve guests at any one time in 6 spacious chalets set amongst giant lead wood trees. Each chalet is made out of locally sourced reed and thatch. The bedrooms are large; battery-powered lights and traditional storm lanterns light the rooms, and the bathroom, which is completely open to the sky, has a large shower, a wash basin and flush toilet.
Meals are relaxed, with everyone usually eating together outside and there is a well stocked bar open on a help yourself basis. As with most camps in the South Luangwa, 4x4 safaris are offered (day and night drives) and walking safaris but Tafika guests can also visit the Mkasanga Village nearby if they are interested in learning about their culture and non-materialistic way of life.
