The Luangwa River Camp lies nestled under an ancient ebony grove, overlooking the Wafwa Oxbow Lagoon on a quiet stretch of the Luangwa river. The entire camp is built on wooden platforms one to three metres high, so as to afford quality views over the river from wherever you are in camp. The infinity pools are an especially prominent feature; sunk into the main deck on two levels, a waterfall adjoins the two pools where you can relax and watch passing wildlife.
There are five individually styled brick and thatch Bush suites which are all built from local materials. Each suite features rechargeable electric lanterns, hairdryer sockets, hot and cold running water, twin sinks, a shower and a sunken bath. The bedroom and bathroom lead onto a private deck with excellent views over the river where you can choose to dine at night, should you wish.
Activities here are varied with day and night safari drives, bush walks and riverboat safaris (in season) all available. Alternatively, you can enjoy one of the holistic therapies available in camp or sit in the elevated bar and reading area ,and enjoy the wildlife viewing from camp.
