Accommodation rating: Good Standard

Opened in late 2014, Bakers Lodge is located on the south banks of the Nile river. The lodge derives its name from the historic English explorer Samuel Baker. In the late 1800s he and his companion, Florence, spent some time in this area during his expedition along the Nile river, where he was the first European to view and consequently name Murchison Falls, a little further upstream. Most areas of the hotel, including all rooms, offer uninterrupted views of the majestic river. The lodge has an eco-friendly feel with the use of solar power throughout. Activities on offer include boat cruises, birdwatching, wildlife drives, trips into Murchison Falls National Park and chimpanzee trekking in Budongo. Features: 10 thatched cottages, lounge/dining area, Wi-Fi. Room amenities: Deck overlooking the river, customized solid wooden furniture, hanging mosquito nets, solar hot water showers, and some rooms with bathtubs.
