Located near the new Sangaiwe Gate of Tarangire National Park, Tarangire Simba Lodge is situated in a wildlife-rich area with views of Lake Burunge. The lodge opened mid 2015 with eight classic tents and eight more scheduled to be completed by early 2016. The main area of the lodge includes a reception area and separate lounge and dining room all made of canvas on raised platforms. Common areas are connected with wooden walkways and there is a deck for outdoor dining adjacent to the dining tent. During the day you can relax at the pool and there is also a tree-top viewing platform built in a stately acacia tree for wildlife watching and stargazing. The spacious canvas tents are also constructed on wooden platforms. Each tent has a private veranda with views to the bush and the lake. Furnishings are handcrafted from African hardwood, complimented by tastefully selected fabrics. The main activities on offer are wildlife drives in Tarangire National Park; wildlife includes lions, zebras, bushbucks, impalas, porcupines, monkeys, warthogs, mongoose and more. Elephants, buffaloes, ostriches and giraffes frequently pass through while the birdlife is prolific and vibrant.
