Accommodation rating: Superior

Mbuzi Mawe (meaning Klipspringer in English) lies at the epicentre of the Serengeti within easy reach of the prime wildlife theatres of Lobo, the Western Corridor of the Grumeti River and the Seronera Valley. The lodge has 16 luxurious tents surrounded by granite towers and the tiny Klipspringer antelope still prance on top of the rocky battlements at dawn. Each room has 24 hour electricity, constant hot water and two double four-poster beds. Excursions include game drives, ranger-led bush walks, bird-watching and sightings of such Serengeti residents as elephant, lion, cheetah, leopard, buffalo, hippo and a large array of antelopes and accompanying plains game.
