The Wild Coast holidays

South Africa’s Wild Coast region extends from the Mtamvuna River in the north and the Great Kei River to the south. It is an untamed and relatively untouched eco-haven that has a beautiful coastline with desolate beaches and secluded bays, green rolling hills and pristine forests, where waterfalls tumble into the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. The Wild Coast is a paradise for bird watchers with over 320 species of birds and all year round the region is good for fishing. The area is ideal for walking, with many caves, bays, shipwrecks, cliffs and capes to explore. Tramp down sandy beaches where the only footprints are your own or catch a glimpse of the traditions and customs of the local Xhosa people, which have remained unchanged for centuries. Visit the birthplace of Nelson Mandela and learn about the man who lead South Africa into a modern democracy at the Nelson Mandela Museum.
