Drive south to Hermanus and stay 2 nights at the stunningly located Marine Hotel. (B)

Between June and November, this slow-paced coastal town becomes a hive of activity as huge numbers of southern right whales arrive from Antarctica’s icy waters to calve and mate. With humpbacks and great white sharks also packing the surrounding bays, Hermanus soon transforms into one of the world’s best locations for land- and sea-based whale and shark watching. Outside of whale season the town still offers beautiful coastal walks and laid-back living. (B)
Sanbona Wildlife Reserve
Drive to the Sanbona Wildlife Reserve, where you will leave your car at a welcome lodge before being transferred to Tilney Manor for a 2-night stay. A host of safari activities are included during your stay, such as wildlife drives, guided nature walks, rock art visits and boat safaris. (B, L, D)
