With wildlife safaris, outstanding hikes,
ancient rock art, wine tasting and even
time exploring Cape Town all being
possibilities, the itinerary has all the
hallmarks of a typical South African
holiday, but benefits from an added
pinch of adventure and exclusivity.

Fly overnight from London to Upington in the
Northern Cape, via Johannesburg. You will be
met by our VIP meet and greet service and
guided through the premium, category M, car
rental pick up process. Drive to the African
Vineyard Guest House & Wellness Spa for an
overnight stay. Optional afternoon wine tasting
at the Orange River Wine Tasting Centre. (N)
Drive north for an optional visit to the Kalahari
Trails Meerkat Rehabilitation Centre, to meet
a large group of rescued meerkats who have
formed a new family and now roam the
centre’s grounds. Continue to the Kgalagadi
Transfrontier Park for a 2-night stay at !Xaus,
a celebrated community-owned eco lodge that
overlooks a salt pan and offers some of South
Africa’s best stargazing. A guided evening game
drive is included. (B, D)
Enjoy a day of included activities operated by
the lodge, with choices ranging from game
drives in the park (home to wildlife such as
lions, leopards, cheetahs and hyenas) to dune
walks and cultural village tours. (B, L, D)
After another morning activity at the lodge,
drive south to Kakamas and overnight at
Vergelegen Guest House, nestled deep in the
Orange river valley and surrounded by lush
green vineyards. (B)
Spend the morning exploring the area around
the Augrabies Falls, before continuing west
to Naries Namakwa Mountain Suites for
a 2-night stay. The following day, self-drive through Namaqua National Park. Fields of
wildflowers (usually Aug – Sep), star-studded
nights, quiver trees and enormous granite
outcrops are some of the memorable features
of this area. (B, D)
Drive south to Nieuwoudtville and stay 2 nights
at Papkuilsfontein Guest Farm. The farm is
situated close to an impressive canyon and
waterfall (rainfall dependent). There are plenty
of self-guided scenic walking trails and natural
rock pools here waiting to be explored. (B, D)
Drive south to the Cederberg and stay 2
nights at the eco-focussed Bushmans Kloof.
Included activities consist of: visits to Bushman
rock art sites; guided wildlife drives; guided
nature walks; and organic garden tours. While
leopards are the only large predators in the
area, there are still fascinating creatures to be
found here, such as red hartebeests, African
wildcats, bat-eared foxes, Cape clawless otters,
baboons, aardwolves and aardvarks. (B, L, D)
Drive south to Cape Town and stay 2 nights
at The Last Word Constantia. Spend time at
leisure exploring the city and its surrounds. (B)
After another day at leisure, return your car
and fly back to London in the early evening,
arriving the following day. (B) (N)
